Two persons were feared dead when hoodlums went on the rampage in Mushin area of Lagos. The victims, Wale Musa, an Islamic cleric, and a food vendor identified as Rukayat aka Mama Islamiyat, were killed on Ike Olu Street, after they were hit by stray bullets.

It was gathered that the attack, which was a reprisal, was carried out by about seven armed men, about 10pm on Tuesday, who shot sporadically.

The attack, it was gathered was sequel to the murder of one Lateef Abiola on Sunday on Agbe Kolade Street at Idi-Oro, which prompted his gang to attack his suspected killers. But when they could not get the rival gang members, the hoodlums were said to have unleashed terror on innocent residents.

EXPOSED: Mischievous Police Men Now Have A New Style Of Implicating Nigerians

I don’t know what to call this, an art of implication or fraud.

Quote

My dad and I were coming back from office, we saw a police man that stopped us and pleaded to carry him to his check point, my dad being a kind man allowed him in and then told me to come and seat with him at the back seat so the official can seat in the front with the driver. We never got to any check point before the policeman said he’s okay here that he should alight..

We dropped him, then we saw two bullets rolled down from underneath the front seat to my dads leg, we were not conscious, he was like what a pity this man forgot a bullet, we couldn’t turn back and give the bullet back so he took it and threw it out from the window. We got to police checkpoint they stopped us, asked for some particulars, though our gla$$ was tinted they asked for that too, the man checking the particulars insisted it was a stop and search we should come down, then I started thanking God that what if we never found the bullet..

They searched and searched and found nothing they made a signal and one guy went a feet ahead to make a call, came back annoyed then my dad knew what was going on, I’m pretty sure he never thought of the bullet then he said haven’t you searched enough and then they let us go.. That was wen he said did they want to implicate me or what when i was thinking they forgot a bullet..

It’s not a joking stuff o.. Please be security aware

25 year old woman, Chiwendu Nwobodo who was bathed with hot groundnut oil by a neighbour in Surulere Lagos over puff puff supposedly worth N900 has lost her two-month-old pregnancy.
According to PUNCH Metro, Her husband, Chigozie, said that his wife had also developed complications as her left ear was now oozing pus and that Iya Daniel has been re-arrested and detained at the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba.
This whole incident reportedly happened because Chiwendu and Iya Daniel, who were neighbours and lived on Ogbomosho Street, Ijesha, in the Surulere area had had a disagreement which made Pregnant Chiwendu kick some puff puff that belonged to Iya Daniel.
Iya Daniel demanded the replacement of her Puff puff which she said was worth N900. Chinwe’s Husband, Chigozie promised to reimburse Iya Daniel of her damaged puff puff.
However, after Chinwe returned from work on the evening of the fateful day, the airport worker was said to have gone to the toilet. As she came out of the toilet, Iya Danielreportedly waylaid her and emptied a pail of hot groundnut oil on her.
She was subsequently rushed to the hospital and placed on admission.
The suspect was arrested by policemen from the Ijesha division, but was later released on bail.
Chigozie on Wednesday said that his wife had lost their unborn child.
He said:

“She developed complications and started losing blood from her private parts. We were advised to do a scan, and the result showed that she had lost the baby.

“We were advised to take her to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital. The doctors said they will have to flush her system to remove the remains of the baby. They also prescribed some drugs to her.

“I am sad because it was supposed to be our first child. We have been married since May 2014 and we were happy when our family doctor confirmed that she was pregnant. But now that she has lost it. I am angry because Iya Daniel caused it.”

Chigozie said she wanted the suspect charged for the injury on his wife and the loss of her pregnancy.

He said: “This is murder. I want the law to take its full course in this case,” he said.

How Much I Earned As Minister - Falae

He evoked some of his experiences in the hands of his abductors, who wanted N100million as ransom after capturing him from his farm in Akure in September.

AT NIGHT

At Night

"Mommy, come rub me."

Henry has trouble winding down at bedtime. He wants me to come to him, to get in his bed with him, to rub his back. I oblige. I'm happy to; it's rare that he'll stay this still for me, to let me be this close to him.

"Tell me the story about the two girls again."

This is the story that my grandmother used to tell me, about the sisters, Lucy and Laney, and their dog Snoonie. And how they went to visit grandma in a snowstorm. And how they dug snow tunnels in the front yard until they were frozen. And how they all went inside and grandma warmed them by the fire, wrapped them in quilts, and made them hot chocolate.

Years later, when my father died, I inherited his Bar Mitzvah photo album. My grandmother went through it with me, pointing out the relatives. There, seated at a round table, was Lucy. A young woman in 1956 with tanned arms, a floral dress. I hadn't guessed that the sisters were actual flesh and blood, my grandmother's cousins. Now, my grandmother gone, I find her. I don't know who she's sitting with at the table, I don't remember which one is her sister.

I tell Henry the story the best that I can. I know that it's changed since my grandmother told it to me. When I'm done, he asks for a story about animals, a story about Batman, a story about clocks. I do my best, and then I tell him a story about a boy named Henry. I let him fill in the blanks. Henry lives with his? "Mom and Dad." And his favorite food is? "Applesauce." And his best friend is? "Augie." And...and...and. And then we say goodnight, and I leave him.

Unknown Heavily Armed Men Kidnap Two Pregnant Women In Kaduna

UNKNOWN but heavily armed men allegedly kidnapped three persons including two pregnant women at Mararaba Jos in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State at about 2am last Monday, relatives of the abducted persons have alleged.

Suarah Ibrahim and Halima Ibrahim, elder sisters of one of the victims, Bilikisu Sani, 17, who spoke to newsmen yesterday in Kaduna, said their visit to the secretariat became necessary after effortless search of their loved sister since the day of incident yielded no result.

The middle-aged women, who looked physically troubled, said they had extended the search to Nigeria Police Force headquarters, Directorate of State Services (DSS) and 1 Divisional Army Headquarters all in Kaduna without any trace.

Halima Ibrahim said: “The men came to the area in different security agencies’ uniforms at about 2am and forced their way into the house. It was later we discovered that occupants of the house, including two pregnant women who were just in their nightdresses were whisked away. I am the elder sister of Bilikisu Sani who just got married.

“We have gone to 1 Division, but we were told they did not have anybody with such description in their custody. We also went to office of DSS as well as the police headquarters here in Kaduna where we heard the same story.

“We decided to come to NUJ because we do not know whereabouts of our people. We do not even know on what grounds the arrest was made. All we know is that the men were in security uniforms and the operation lasted for about five hours.”

Contacted, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Kaduna Police Command, DSP Zubairu Abubakar, said he was unaware of any joint operation on Monday, October 12, but promised to make contacts.

But about an hour later, he replied through a mobile message which simply read: “For any army operation, call their PRO pls. Thanks.”

Calling the Public Relations Officer of 1 Divisional Army Headquarters, Kaduna, Col. A. O. Abdul, he also said he was not aware of any operation involving the army on the said date. He promised to make contact and get back to this reporter but he never did.

However, Public Relations Officer of Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Kaduna State Command, ASCII, Orndiir Terzungwe, confirmed that Army did called for reinforcement on that day, but could not ascertain whether it was for the case under review.

9ice Finally Opens Up On Fight With Ruggedman

The truth is gradually coming out years after two popular singers 9ice and his erstwhile friend Ruggedman fought. Five years down the lane 9ice says he has not forgiven Ruggedman.

In 2010, the rumour mill was agog with the story that Ruggedman had affair with 9ice’s ex-wife, Toni Payne.
As if to confirm the rumour, 9ice released a controversial single titled Once Bitten and tongues wagged and the rumour mill claimed 9ice sang about his marriage in the song. Many were quick to say 9ice was referring to Ruggedman as the man he said he caught sleeping with his lover.

How saraki begged CCT to Adjourn His Case indefinitely

Facts have emerged on how Senate president, Bukola Saraki yesterday, pleaded with the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) to adjourn his case indefinitely.

The former Kwara state is facing a 13-count charge bordering on false assets declaration, to which he has pleaded ‘not guilty’, but the hearing has since continued at the tribunal.

Drama as lawyer beg saraki to enter dock.

There was drama at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) yesterday when Senate President Bukola Saraki refused to move into the dock when his case was called.
The dock is where those standing trial stay during proceedings.
Saraki’s refusal to leave his seat for the dock led to an argument between his lead counsel, Mahmud Magaji (SAN), and the prosecutor, Rotimi Jacobs (SAN).
Objecting to Saraki’s action, Jacobs said it was the practice for an accused “irrespective” of his status to enter the dock during his trial.
According to him, once an accused person’s plea is taken, he/she must always sit in the dock during proceedings.
“Things must be done properly. The proper thing is for him to go to the dock,” Jacobs said.
Magaji said there was no need for Saraki to enter the dock, citing Section 22(m) of the Evidence Act to buttress his submission.
But, tribunal Chairman Justice Danladi Umar overruled him, directing him to prevail on Saraki to do the right thing.
Shortly after Saraki moved into the dock, Jacobs sought an adjournment to enable the tribunal await the Court of Appeal’s judgment in the defendant’s appeal.  The appeal court on Monday adjourned the verdict sine die (indefinitely).
Jacobs also acknowledged receipt of a fresh motion for stay of proceedings filed by Saraki’s legal team.
He said although the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) 2015 frowns at a stay of proceedings in criminal cases, there was the need to await the appellate court’s verdict because it touches on the tribunal’s jurisdiction to further preside over the case.
A stay at this moment, he said, was reasonable in order to preserve the integrity of the court and of the legal profession.
Responding, Magaji, who had suggested an indefinite adjournment, said he would agree to the two-week adjournment suggested by Jacobs if the business of the court on the next date would be for parties to report the appeal court’s decision.
Magaji said it was necessary for him to remind the tribunal that his client’s trial was affecting his job as Senate President.
Jacobs objected to Magaji’s claim, saying the statement was intended to intimidate the tribunal.
“This is an intimidation of the tribunal. The defendant is a defendant. What is the essence of the rule of law?
He (Magaji) is saying that because the defendant is the Senate President.
“Are you saying he should not be treated like every other defendant, when the rule of law says even the king is subject to the law?” Jacobs said.
Ruling, Justice Umar said the tribunal would await the Court of Appeal’s judgment. He adjourned to November 5 for report of the appellate court’s decision and possibly, hearing of pending applications.
The tribunal, he said, would tarry a while in deference to the appellate court.
Saraki arrived at the tribunal around 9. 54 am, accompanied by some senators. The case was called at 10:45 am.
On September 22, Saraki pleaded not guilty to a 13-count charge of false asset declaration brought against him by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).
He is querying the tribunal’s jurisdiction to try him at the appeal court.
Saraki is contending that the charge is defective, because it was not filed by a substantive Attorney General of the Federation and that the tribunal is not validly constituted because only two out of its constitutionally stipulated three members are currently sitting.
On October 8, the Justice MooreAdumein-led three-man panel of the Court of Appeal, sitting in Abuja granted accelerated hearing in Saraki’s appeal and promised to give judgment before his next appearance at the tribunal yesterday.
