Doris Ogala vs. Pastor Chris Okafor: The ₦1 Billion Lawsuit and Bombshell Allegations

In recent days, the Nigerian entertainment and religious landscape has been rocked by explosive allegations made by Nollywood actress Doris Ogala against Pastor Chris Okafor, the founder of Grace Nation International (formerly Liberation City).

The controversy reached a fever pitch between December 14 and December 19, 2025, following the news of the clergyman's wedding to another woman. Here is a breakdown of the situation for your blog:

Doris Ogala vs. Pastor Chris Okafor: The ₦1 Billion Lawsuit and Bombshell Allegations

Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has launched a public and legal campaign against popular Lagos-based cleric Dr. Chris Okafor. The fallout stems from an alleged nine-year intimate relationship that Ogala claims has left her life in ruins.

1. The ₦1 Billion Legal Demand

On December 17, 2025, Ogala’s legal team, Synergy Law Partners, issued a formal pre-action notice to Pastor Okafor. The actress is demanding ₦1 billion in general and aggravated damages for an alleged breach of promise to marry. The letter gives the cleric 21 days to comply or face a full-scale lawsuit in court.

2. Allegations of Betrayal and Abuse

The controversy erupted after videos of Pastor Okafor’s engagement and subsequent wedding to a woman named Pearl surfaced online. In a series of emotional Instagram live sessions, Ogala alleged:

 * Broken Marriage Promise: She claims they had been dating since 2017 and that he pressured her to leave her previous marriage with the promise of a future together.

 * Financial Exploitation: Ogala alleges she transferred large sums of money to him, including a single transaction of ₦45 million, to assist with his business and ministry.

 * Privacy Violations: She has accused the cleric of sharing her private videos and misrepresenting a tragic miscarriage she suffered as an abortion.

3. Threats to Disrupt the Wedding

Before the wedding took place on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, Ogala vowed to disrupt the ceremony, stating, "Chris Okafor, you will not marry... you have destroyed my life." Despite her public outcry, the traditional and white wedding ceremonies proceeded, with photos circulating on social media shortly after.

4. Personal Loss and Mental Health

The actress has been vocal about her deteriorating mental health, disclosing that she has struggled with suicidal thoughts and emotional instability. She also linked the stress of the situation to the untimely death of her younger brother, though she noted she could not prove "ritual" involvement, only the immense personal toll the relationship took on her.

The Pastor’s Response

While Pastor Chris Okafor has not released a formal legal rebuttal to the ₦1 billion demand, he recently addressed his congregation. In a message focused on character and handling public accusations, he urged followers to be wary of social media narratives, though he did not mention Doris Ogala by name.
